20/10/24 Nortubel part 8/Untotern


A setting ranging from horror/supernatural to references to different cultures and mythologies (Though still under fictional countries and all).

Fitting for Halloween.


This is the last special world before part 9, in which I want to make sure our protagonists’ journey comes to an end.

Passwords are: "r4cs00", "eet33p", "al3gn4", "k4luub", "al1sss" and "b34trc".

  • Enemy: An upside down skull entity that shoots 2 arcing fireballs to both sides.
  • Enemy: A Chochin-obake/lantern that chases the Companion (Unlike Grek’s Scalper, it flies around)
  • Hazard: Giant zombie hand that comes from the floor and grabs you while dealing damage (You can still kill it).
  • Prefab: A haunted painting of a woman that looks at the Player.
  • Prefab: A very mean prank at the end of UntoternLevel1… it IS a horror themed episode after all (The real horror is how awkwardly executed it is)
  • Prefab: A big monster whose design is a clear Hieronymus Bosch reference.
  • (Expect references to other artists like Barlowe, Giger, Beksinski and such).
  • NPC: A large angel lady, you get to walk on her eyes.
  • Guest appearance: Batty Vamps by Frenchfriesguy.
  • Prefab: A basic minigame where you control a bat and its related to Batty’s appearance.
  • A gallery menu where you can see illustrations in a more accessible way (Password “galeria”)
  • LevelTutorial1 has 2 ingame screens with videos that hopefully show how the basic Companion controls (And even ladder ones) sort of work.
  • LevelTemplate3/m3lv1n had a potential softlock in a teleport area fixed.
  • LevelTemplate 1/c4rr13 was tweaked so you get easier access to the illustration and the convo NPC’s.
  • HerrkoLevel2/iv4nnn tweaked so there’s a solid wall close to the climbable swords.
  • Main menu has a “secret” button that reveals a board with all the level passwords written (Do tell me if there’s an issue).
  • Camera smoothing is off by default, due to some people having “jittery” stuff going on (I still don’t know how to fix this, honestly).

Anyway, after this is the last chapter.

I might as well focus more on this to the point I barely post progress on some more public spaces, but I may still respond to comments and messages.

I want to try even making music with LMMS, so if you know anything about that program: Feel free to tell me anything useful about it.

Also, support Horbror: Creator of Dreams of Joy Departed who also helped me with the game sort of (Feedback, idea for the “slow” cake tiles in Brinkaedea, made music for that trailer) and his computer is having issues, so I hope it doesn’t affect his game.

Don’t know what else to say other that I could be less online or focusing more on gamedev just to make sure chapter 9 is special.
